Sébastien Ramirez

French–Spanish dancer, choreographer and artistic director

Sébastien Ramirez specializes in the use of aerial work as well as choreographic rigging development. The underground scene, followed by a number of competitions, collaborations and encounters consolidated his artistic vision. In 2007 he founded his company in Perpignan. Integrating a new vision of space and choreography, the company’s distinct language brought hip hop dance to a wider and new audience.
Sharing the Company’s Artistic Direction with Honji Wang, the pair has produced more than 9 choreographic pieces that blend hip-hop with other styles and has collected several awards including the Special Jury Prize at the International Choreography Competition in Osaka (2009), the Special Audience Award at the No Ballet Contemporary Dance Competition in Ludwigshafen (2012), the 1st and Special Audience Award at the International Contemporary Dance Competition in Hannover (2012), the New York Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer (2013), and the Bessie Award Nomination for Outstanding Production (2017).
His first commissioned work was as one of the choreographers of RIOT OffSpring, a 2013 Sadler’s Wells production. Ramirez contributed to the creation phase of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour and choreographed for her live show. He also conducted a personal training on floorwork movement for the creation of Akram Khan’s solo DESH.
Ramirez was appointed Associate Artist at L’Archipel, National Theater of Perpignan in 2014 and at Théâtre de la Ville in Paris in 2018.

Honji Wang

German–Korean dancer, choreographer and artistic director

Honji Wang is recognized as an artist who brings contemporary and hip hop together in an exceptionally organic fashion. Her dance language is an abstraction of hip hop dance and has influences of earlier martial arts and ballet training.
Wang’s first collaboration with Sébastien Ramirez, a duet titled AP15, was in 2010. Soon after she became Co-artistic Director of Company Wang Ramirez and ever since the duo has been creating larger scale works that established them in the contemporary dance scene.
Wang was selected in Madonna’s final auditions and earned an invitation to tour and perform in the Rebel Heart TourWang has also collaborated with flamenco dancer Rocío Molina, with British choreographer Akram Khan, as well as with New York City Ballet principal dancer Sara Mearns in a series of duets.

The Company

Wang Ramirez - The Company

Sébastien Ramirez and Honji Wang, a couple inseparable in life as onstage, produce dance-theater pieces that splice together genres as divergent as hip-hop, ballet, contemporary dance and martial arts.

The company’s unique choreographic language – with means of expression built on technical virtuosity, poetry and humour – has been recognized with numerous awards such as two New York Bessie Award recognitions and the 1st and Special Audience Award at the International Contemporary Dance Competition in Hannover.
Wang and Ramirez have earned invitations to collaborate with big-name artists from the dance, plastic arts, film and music worlds, including Madonna, Nitin Sawhney, Akram Khan, Rocío Molina, New York City Ballet principal dancer Sara Mearns, Constance Guisset, Osgemeos, Andy Serkis, Hussein Chalayan, among others.
In 2016, Wang and Ramirez were commissioned by Sadler’s Wells to direct and perform a hybrid piece of dance-musical theatre made to Nitin Sawhney’s album Dystopian Dream.
The duo’s latest commission titled AU REVOIR will be performed by the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. This work will be part of a shared evening programme named Beyond, which will also feature a choreography by Yoann Bourgeois.
Company Wang Ramirez has produced more than nine highly-demanded and critically acclaimed works including Monchichi (2010), Borderline (2013), EVERYNESS (2016), No.1 (2017) and W.A.M. (2018). The Company tours in numerous cities around Europe, Asia, America and beyond.

Gilles Albalat


Gilles Albalat is the Director of ARDEC, a specialized organization in structuring and professionalizing development of cultural companies in the Region of Occitanie for more than 20 years now. Trainer in Cultural Management since 1999, he also acts as a strategic, organizational, legal and financial consultant for cultural associations.

Rhuan Gunesh


Graduate of the École Supérieur de Commerce de Montpellier and working as an independent accountant since 2013, Rhuan Gunesh has more than 17 years of experience, at first for an international consulting firm and then for an important regional Cabinet. He works as a legal or contractual consultant with a real specialization and sensibility for cultural, artistic and athletic companies and associations.

Alain Arnaudet

After the course of his career within the Scènes Nationales network, Alain Arnaudet participates from 2001 to 2005 in the relaunching of Les Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles as a general manager of the festival. In 2005, he manages and restructures L’Alliance Française of Sao-Paulo before re-revitalizing the activity of Centre Culturel Français of Cambodia. Back in France, he is named Cultural Development Director for the National Monuments Center and he carries many projects in partnership with national and international institutions and associations. He manages la Friche la Belle de Mai since July 2011.

Karthika Naïr

Poet-dance producer/curator, Karthika Naïr is the author of several books, including The Honey Hunter and Until the Lions: Echoes from the Mahabharata, awarded the 2015 Tata Literature Live! Award for fiction. She was also the principal scriptwriter of Akram Khan's DESH (2011), Chotto Desh (2015) and Until the Lions (2016), a partial adaptation of her book. In Naïr’s résumé as a dance enabler, one finds special mention of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui - with whom she founded the company Eastman, based in Antwerp - and Damien Jalet.

Fatiha Schlicht

Beginning her career at the Montpellier Danse Festival, Fatiha Schlicht has produced several theater and dance companies. She was commissioned for the COJM Mediterranean games at the INRA, the Doc Festival in Tunis and the Hybrides Festival in Montpellier. She was in charge of the set up of mediation projects for the ZAT and also coordinated the international IETM meetings. Today, she is responsible for the development of associated artists, the sponsor club and the endowment fund implementation at the Théâtre de Nîmes.

Michel Vallet

Founder and director of the Ramdam Festival, also technical director of Scène Nationale de Blois, Michel Vallet has extensive field experience. As Director of La Casa Musicale and with the help of his team, he welcomes, supervises, trains and sometimes socializes more than 800 subscribers, about half of them, coming from disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Attentive to regional artists’ needs, La Casa Musicale is today recognized for its expertise and builds local, regional and national partnerships.

Emmanuelle Lajaunias

Executive Director

After studying cultural law and management, Emmanuelle Lajaunias specialized in production for performing arts. Her path led her first to the Cité de la Musique where she joined the jazz festival team at la Villette. She then worked as an orchestra administrator for a few years before joining the production teams of the Salle Pleyel and the Philharmonie de Paris.

Corinne Aden


Corinne Aden has been working for 25 years in the performing arts. She assists artistic projects in logistics and administrative matters. Graduate in Culture and Communication studies, she educated herself over time in cultural companies management (accountings, production, etc.) and has been able to ensure her administrative role for several companies in the Occitanie region and in Paris.

Cyril Mulon

Technical Management

Lighting designer Cyril Mulon studied camera and light design and is also the company’s technical director. Serving as lighting and stage manager for Peter Brook's company (Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Paris, France) for over a decade, he gained a wide scope of artistic and technical experiences. His eclectic career reaches from documentary, video, photography to light design for theatre productions, operas and dance.

Marco Di Nardo

Marco Di Nardo began his road into the bboy world in 2002, in Naples. He became part of “Double B Rockers Crew”, a legendary Italian breakdance crew. He then won numerous competitions around Europe. He currently lives in Berlin where he collaborates with different companies and continues to evolve from bboying to experimental dance, unifying his strong style with tricking, power moves, floorwork and contemporary dance.

Shihya Peng

We are Monchichi

Born and raised in Taiwan, Shihya Peng has a solid training in classical, contemporary and traditional Chinese dance. Graduate with a MFA degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah, she collaborates in France with choreographers such as François Chaignaud and Cecilia Bengolea, Collectif (LA) HORDE, Barbara Matijevic and Giuseppe Chico, Karine Saporta, James Carlès, Julien Lestel, Chantal Loïal, as well as the Châtelet Theater and the Opera of Marseille.

Salomon Baneck-Asaro


Salomon is a creative and versatile dancer recognized on an international scale. He dances in contemporary and hip hop creations, even in opera productions. Salomon develops a personal and particular style combining floor and stand up dance, which has earned him the reputation of a complete and experimental artist always in search for novelty.

Alexis Fernandez Ferrera


Born in Santiago de Cuba and trained at the National School of Arts of Havana, Alexis Fernandez aka Maca has worked with many companies including Danza Contemporánea de Cuba in Havana and The Intrusa - Damián Muñoz in Barcelona. Together with Caterina Varela, he founds the company "La Macana" in Galicia in 2009.

Christine Joy Alpuerto Ritter


Trained in the Palucca Dance School in Dresden, Christine Joy Alpuerto Ritter took part in many Hip Hop Battle Events around Europe and has been working as a freelance dancer mostly in Berlin with choreographers like Christoph Winkler, Anja Kozik, Constanza Macras and Heike Hennig. In 2011 she joined the Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du soleil and since 2013 she is touring with the Akram Khan Company.

Thierno Thioune


Thierno Thioune discovered hip hop dance in 1998 and began his professional career in 2002 with the company of Sébastien Lefrançois, first as a dancer and then as assistant choreographer. He joins the Yudat Company and stands out in the work of internationally recognized directors and choreographers such as Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Momboye Georges Hakim Ghorab and Philippe Calvario.

Rocio Molina


Rocío Molina has created over ten shows since 2004. The last one of them, Bosque Ardora, premiered in September 2014 at the Biennale de Lyon, has been selected for the Prix Oliver 2015 and has won the Prix Max award for Best Choreography from 4 nominations. Rocío also received, among others awards, the National Dance Award in Spain. This artist, dancer and choreographer is today acclaimed by the audience and critics and recognized internationally as the new star of Flamenco. Rocío Molina is associated artist of Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris.

Alister Mazzotti


Stunt coordinator Alister Mazzotti received global recognition for his work with a Taurus World Stunt Award nomination in 2012 and four nominations for the German Television Academy (DAFF) since 2013. During his 23 year long career he has coordinated stunts for renowned action directors such as Chad Stahelski, Jeff Imada, David Leitch, Nik Powell and Steve Griffin and has headed stunt departments in 16 different countries. He is a board member of the German Stunt Association.

Louis Becker


Louis Becker has a strong base in bboying and broadened his artistic expressions with contemporary dance, acrobatics and drama. Winner of an impressing number of battles, he is also part of different contemporary dance productions of Company Constanza Macras, touring internationally. 

Johanna Faye


Johanna Faye has her dance roots in breaking, with strong experiences in contemporary dance and improvisation. Johanna has been working with choreographers like Amala Dianor, Jérémie Belingard, Tishou Aminata Kane et Sylvain Groud.

Kai Gaedtke

EVERYNESS / Borderline

Rigger and performer Kai Gaedtke is specialized in rigging, stunts and special effects for movie productions (Valkyrie). For new circus productions and street events (Fura dels Baus, Royal Deluxe) he was responsible for stage managing with the European network TransEuropeHalles (UFA Fabrik, Berlin). Working on different continents, he also is Karate teacher in his hometown Berlin.

Saïdo Lehlouh


Charismatic bboy Saïdo Lehlouh was early spotted for his extraordinary dance skills, stage presence and interpretation. From the very beginning, he participated at important dance theatre productions with artists such as Storm (Théâtre de Chaillot, Paris ; National dance center CND in Pantin; Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin), Constanza Macras (Berlin) or Norma Claire (French Guiana).

Jani-Matti Salo

True Blue Market / Felahikum

Jani-Matti Salo is a Helsinki-based lighting designer who works with contemporary dance and theatre productions. He studied at the Tampere University of Applied Sciences, School of Art and Media and the Theatre Academy of Finland. In 2015, Salo was awarded the prize for Best Lighting Design of the Year in Finland for his work on Ihanat ihmiset for Q-theater.




Schallbauer is a composer and sound designer from Berlin. Since many years he is creating sound in different genres for television, advertisements, short movies and installations. Beside that, he is producing electronical music as STOMAX, 80s influenced tracks with his duo NITROHAWKS and all types of music for many artists.

Clément Aubry


Sound designer and engineer, Clement Aubry studied sound writing at the Theater Arts and Techniques Higher National School (ENSATT), in Lyon, France. He works now as a sound designer, sound engineer and musician with different theater and dance companies in France and abroad.

Jean-Philippe Barrios, a.k.a LACRYMOBOY is a percussionist, drummer, composer who has been playing music with bands and collaborating with choreographers well over the past two decades. He has played for classes with companies and contemporary dance centers. As a performer - musician, dancer or actor - he is a member of many international companies, including Brodas Bros (Barcelona).



Everydayz, is a young jack-of-all-trades beatmaker. Often considered as -unclassifiable-, he collaborates with artists as Agoria and Némir, and has been quoted in Laurent Garnier's book as “the most promising producer of his generation" - Konbini


Fabrice Melquiot

We are Monchichi

Fabrice Melquiot is a revered playwright, poet and songwriter as well as a performance and theater director. Since 2012, he has been director of the Am Stram Gram Theater in Geneva. Considered as one of the most celebrated contemporary playwrights, Fabrice Melquiot has published more than 60 plays in L'Arche Editeur and adapted several literary works for the stage. In 2008, he received the French Academy Theater Award for the entirety of his work.

Roberto Fratini Serafide


Roberto Fratini Serafide is a dramatist and dance theoretician. Professor at the Conservatori Superior de Dansa in Barcelona, he works as a dramatist with several international contemporary dance and theatre companies (La Veronal, Roger Bernat, Taiat Dansa, Alexandra Waierstall, Aerites, Sol Picó, Philippe Saire, amongst others). Author of articles, essays and a book, he offers dramaturgy trainings and workshops in several academies.

Catherine Umbdenstock


Trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, Catherine Umbdenstock is now stage director and artistic director for the French-German group Epik Hotel, which she founds in 2012. After several artistic collaborations with Constanza Macras, Wajdi Mouawad, Luk Perceval and Thomas Ostermeier, she becomes associated artist of La Commune – CDN d’Aubervilliers.

Vincent Rafis


Theatre-trained at l’École Jacques Lecoq, Vincent Rafis participated in about fifteen scenic creations in France and abroad. Dramatist, psychoanalyst, independent researcher, and also Doctor in Language Sciences from l’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, he wrote two papers published in Presses du reel. He currently practices clinical psychology of psychoanalytical inspiration in a private cabinet and other institutions.

Constance Guisset


Constance Guisset founds her design studio in 2009. She designs objects for many French and international publishers such as Small Fry, Moustache, Nature & Découvertes, Louis Vuitton, Malletier, Molteni, etc. She also creates set designs for stage performances and exhibitions, as well as interior design projects. She aims to create lightweight and animated objects in order to surprise and trigger imagination.

Paul Bauer


Paul Bauer produces a great variety of projects involving architecture, scenography, fashion, design, interior design and exhibitions. He suggests that aesthetics are inherent to given situations and that they reveal the simplicity of connections and complex combinations. He creates environments where all of these elements can be experimented. Graduated from Berlin Arts University in 2009, he lives and works in Frankfurt.

Ida Ravn

Monchichi / We are Monchichi

Ida Elisabeth Ravn has an education in dressmaking and costumes and has worked in the puppets and masks department on the Lion King musical for 6 years in London and Paris, as well as a props person in Norwegian theatres. With a two-year background in pyrotechnics, she gained experience working on different TV productions, large concerts and professional fireworks displays.


Linda Charlotte Ehrl


Linda Charlotte Ehrl was born in Frankfurt, Germany and studied fashion design in Berlin. She learned the fine art of haute couture embroideries at Atelier Vernoux, Paris. At Chloé International she assisted the textile and graphic designer and designed for the main collections. She worked as fashion editor for international magazines and since 2008 she has been working worldwide as a freelance art director, fashion and interior stylist.

Soo-Hi Song


Berlin-based stylist, specialising in editorial work, fashion consulting and artist styling since 2007. Some photographers, she has worked with include Rankin, Jon Viking Bergman and Kate Bellm. She has also contributed to such publications as Rolling Stone, Fault and ZEITmagazin.
