About
Dystopian Dream
A Sadler’s Wells production created from a concept originated by Nitin Sawhney and co-devised with Honji Wang and Sébastien Ramirez.
This exciting new dance work in which Wang Ramirez direct and perform, is made to Sawhney’s acclaimed 2015 album Dystopian Dream.Taking inspiration from threads woven through Nitin Sawhney’s album, this stage interpretation combines choreography, live music and theatre to examine themes of loss, isolation, surrender and continuity. Uniting Wang Ramirez’ extremely physical hip hop influenced dance language with Sawhney’s iconic music and a live singer, the production will take the audience on a journey through parallel universes and unreal dreams.Featuring animated projections by Nick Hillel, costumes by Hussein Chalayan, lighting by Natasha Chivers and set by Shizuka Hariu.
